Our People
Natalie Creary
Founder/Director
I am the founder of Liberating Knowledge. Much of my work and research has focused on understanding and addressing the deep-seated roots of inequality. With extensive experience as a community practitioner, facilitator, trainer, public speaker, and accidental academic, my journey in the realm of race equity and systems change led me to a significant realization.
I’ve observed that a lack of dedicated time for reflection and envisioning alternative futures often proves to be a significant barrier to fostering innovative solutions.
Motivated by this insight, I set out to create a space where communities and organisations could let their imaginations run free. Where ideas can be testted and promising ideas are nurtured, while also leveraging the lessons learned from setbacks to build solutions that are futureproofed. Engaging in this work brings me immense joy and I also have the privilege of collaborating with a truly dynamic team.

Communications Lead
Plying my trade as a journalist, I have made a conscious decision to cover stories which highlight the lived experiences, obstacles and triumphs of those hailing from underrepresented communities.
In addition to my background in behavioural analysis and diversity and inclusion workshop development, I am an active film critic, who somehow still hasn’t seen Titanic).

I bring a diverse range of interests and experiences to my role. Before joining the team, I trained as a fitness instructor, and I still maintain a strong interest in health and fitness, enjoying an active lifestyle.
Beyond fitness, I am fascinated by the art and science of perfumery, I have a keen interest in philosophy and I am fascinated by people and how their experiences, education and interactions with their environment and others shapes their view of the world.
My curiosity enriches my work, especially as we collaborate with such a diverse range of individuals and organisations and are often working to bring sometimes quite conflicting views or perspectives to come to a consensus.
